Annually the Seattle/Olympia area Laser Tag groups host a series of games at the old WWII concrete bunker forts of Fort Warden and more recently Ft Flaggler. These games provide a unique tagging experience in a maze of concrete structures. The event generally costs an individual under $100 (depending on housing) and is worth the expense of the event and the travel to get there. If you would like to know more, click on the "Read More" link.
We use Zombies in our games allot (no one likes leaving the game
field). We have come up with several zombie variations. Recently the
idea hit me that we can combine the different type of zombies in
progression.
OLCA AAR/Scenario Success

Hey guys! 'Zook here from the
Omaha Laser Challenge Association to fill you all in on the After-Action
Report from our latest Off-Season game. Why? Because we made a few
changes that were gameplay-altering and more than likely to stick, so
I'm hoping that some of the ideas with what we did will help you and
your groups add a bit of variety to what you're doing. Unless, of
course, if you're already going what I'm about to tell you all, in which
case, you probably influenced US!

Anywho, we had our second
Fall Game of the Off-Season on November 14th starting at 4pm (since
sunset is at 4:30 these days). We had a decent turnout and the weather
was considerably nice for a November Evening in Omaha.

Before the game, the veterans all got together
to discuss our previous season's successes and failures and ways we
thought we could continue to improve things for the OLCA. The biggest
complaint seen after Season 4 was hiding. In general, we have too many
new players who get separated from leadership during games and simply
hide the entire game, dragging things out and making for a very
uneventful game. Traditionally, the OLCA has simply done Team
Elimination games, where the surviving team wins. It used to work well
for us, but as veterans have gotten better and new players have become
more "tentative", games tend to have decent action for the first 15
minutes but then the "Hunt" for all those who managed to hide drags on
for another 15 or 20 minutes.

Our solution to this problem at
first was to simply install a time limit to encourage players to wrap
things up more quickly/be active during the game. However, a neat
little tool came into play that changed the face of our games Saturday
Night.

Tactics Stolen from post on Airsoft Site

In many cases, Airsoft and Laser Tag are extremely different beasts - however sometimes the tactics from one game translate well into others. Being I have a foot in both sports, I like to read through postings on Airsoft sites. I wish I could give credit to the poster of this; but, unfortunately I lost track of where I copied it from. Anyway, click on Read More to see the suggestions.
